Mitchell Gomes first worked as a bus-person at the famed Telfer’s on King Street at the age of 16. After moving his way up to server, he left the industry at the age of 21 to attend Ryerson University, where he studied business management.
In 1994, upon completing university, Mitchell worked at 212 before coming to Centro Restaurant and Lounge.
Upon leaving Centro, Mitchell spent time at Richlee’s before moving to Acqua in the BCE Place. After brief stints at Rogues and Terra, Mitchell joined North 44°, where he spent 6 years as both server and dining room manager.
Mitchell completed the International Sommelier Guild diploma program in 2001. He rejoined Centro Restaurant & Lounge in March, 2010, and currently heads the wine program along with managing the dining room.
